KURHAUS GALERIE, BAD MERGENTHEIM, BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG, GERMANY

1978

During 1978 a further exhibition took place, to which Katherina was invited to participate, in the historic town of Bad Mergentheim in southern Germany. No record exists of the paintings and graphics which she exhibited, but there is one photograph.

This exhibition was held jointly with Katherina’s painter mother, Vera Macht. The photograph illustrated below shows Vera with at left a painting by Katherina and at centre a painting of a Sardinian bride in traditional costume by her mother.

Bad Mergentheim is a medieval and largely untouched town in the hills of western Baden-Württemberg. Its Deutschordensschloss castle is the major attraction.

As the name suggests, this is a community founded around hotsprings where warm water bubbles up and was developed into numerous bathhouses. Of these the Kurhas was one. However it is no longer in operation.
