During 1987 the Third Biennale di Lavacchio was held in Lavacchio in the Italian state of Toscana. Katherina’s entry for this competition was a major relief in a reddish local stone. As she recalls, the parameter of the competition was that the artists, of which she was the only sculptor, had only seven days to complete their work. However with the deadline for her forthcoming Malta exhibition fast approaching, working day and night she managed to complete the reliefs in three or four days!
